Made Me Who I Am is the story of Shanda Nicole Wallace.  A young lady who has gone through a multitude of troubles in her life.  From molestation and abuse at an early age, and being subject to damaging effects of "Big Girl" games at the young age of five, like the "Close Your Eyes and Open Your Mouth" game, the "Can You Keep a Secret?" game, the "Intimidation" game, the "If You Tell, I'mma Kill You" game, and last but not least, the "Let's Play Dead" game.  A young adolescent boy entrusted with a young girl's innocence and well-being, only to take advantage of it and begin that trend that would follow her for a great deal of her years.

Her mother, whom she "affectionately" named "That Chick" for her lack of motherly wisdom and direction, was prime factor in this deterioration due to her neglect and selfishness.  From young Shanda's nightmares to others trying to force these "games" upon her, to keep from going insane, she used her imagination and created herself a safe haven.  She became the star of her own circus.  But this didn't stop others from invading the show.

With all that was going on in her life, "That Chick" would take them from their home, and back to her grandmother's house in a regular cycle.  "That Chick" would get herself in so much trouble, then have a nervous breakdown, spend a few nights in the hospital, and then back to grandma's house.  This cycle went on countless times.  And it seemed like every time this cycle repeated, a new baby joined the fray.  A new baby for young Shanda to raise.

Amidst all the chaos, Shanda did have a ray of light in her life.  Her father.  Her father rescued her from insanity.  Her parents are not married, and he gets time with her, and when he did, he made sure she was treated like a princess.  He made sure she got to be a child.  But he also made sure that she had good grounding in church and a great understanding of God, and helped her to develop her relationship with God.  But in one of mother's mental fits, this relationship would be seriously strained.
